Keylite raises £4,000 for Derby and Burton Hospitals Charity

Last year, Keylite Roof Windows challenged local businesses and communities to ‘Kick it with Keylite’ in the name of raising money to help fund an interactive projector for patients to use in the Queen’s Hospital Burton children’s wards.

The initiative challenged participants to kick, throw, putt or bat a ball through a Keylite roof window, with businesses, schools and sports clubs across the midlands getting involved by hosting Kick it with Keylite fun days.

Derby and Burton Hospitals Charity aims to deliver outstanding care for local people, bringing together the expertise of over 18,000 staff across five hospital sites. The Kick it with Keylite challenge was extremely well received, raising £4,000 to help fund an interactive projector for Queen’s Hospital Burton.

Marie Gretton, Communications Officer for Derby and Burton Hospitals Charity said: “It has been a pleasure to work with the Keylite team from the very start and they have been incredibly keen and supportive. The team worked so hard to fundraise and the money raised will make a huge impact on services at the children’s hospital at Burton.

“The projectors are a fantastic piece of kit that provide a welcome distraction to young patients visiting the hospital. They also help by developing social and communication skills, encouraging collaboration and group play, building motor and proprioceptive skills, improving wellbeing and mental health, as well as motivating physical activity.”
